Here are two great Embossing Folders you won’t want to miss:  Manhattan Flower Folder (#114517) and the Spider Web Folder (#120889).

Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die - by Stampin' Up!Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die - by Stampin' Up!

?????????? Spider Web emboss folder 0101

I used the Manhattan Flower embossing folder on watercolor paper, then brayered VersaMark (#102283) embossing ink over the top and used Iridescent Ice (#101930) embossing powder to emphasize the flower.  The flowers were then colored using ink refills (Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Bashful Blue) and a watercolor brush.  The whole card was then brushed with Crystal Effects (#101055) to give it a glossy shine.

I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Spider Web embossing folder (#120889), brayered VersaMark (#102283) ink over the top and them heat embossed with Black Emboss Powder (#109133).  I punched a partial circle at the lower left corner – - – it’s reserved for a spider (as soon as I find one with the right attitude!

Tip:  When using the brayer to add VersaMark ink to the raised portion of the embossed image, you need a very gentle hand.  If you press too hard you will get some of the VersaMark ink on the parts  you don’t want to heat emboss.  If this happens, you can use a small paint brush to brush the powder off.  This will work best if you are using white or clear embossing powder – as you can see with my spider web, the black is very hard to completely clean off the white cardstock.
