A Christmas Banner Project

Here is a Christmas banner I made yesterday to take to my doctor’s office this morning.  It is a hybrid project.  The basic design with the lettering is made with My Digital Studio 2 (MDS 2) from Stampin’ Up!

I C.A.S.E.’d this project from another blog here:  http://snippetsandpretties.blogspot.com/

Jessica was generous enough to provide a download for the letters!  I printed them out on photo paper (4×6 size), trimmed them a tad, mounted on cardstock (Early Espresso, Real Red and Gumball Green), then I embellished with designer paper from Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP, silver glimmer paper, buttons, brads, and Gumball Green ribbon.

Details:  The two bells are from Michaels Craft Store but all other materials are from Stampin’ Up!  The “B” tag has a snowflake die cut from the silver glimmer paper, a red button and Early Espresso bakers twine. The first “E” has an embellishment with a scalloped circle from the silver glimmer paper, two circle punches of cardstock and another red button with twine.  Although is difficult to see, the tag in between the Be and Merry has a Real Red cardstock scalloped circle punched out, a rosette on top, a silver glimmer paper snowflake done with the Sizzix die, and one of the clear Vintage Faceted Designer buttons in the center.  the “M” has two Real Red glimmer brads. The “E” has two snowflakes (Sizzix die) cut from the glimmer paper in the bottom left corner.  The first “R” has three Real Red glimmer brads up at the top right (supposed to look like holly berries).  For the second “R” I made a dimensional ornament (3 cuts of the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and Holiday Ornaments framelits die) by stacking the 3 layers and using Stampin’ Dimensionals in between the layers.  It’s the lower of the two ornaments on the tag.  Finally, the “Y” has a Real Red button with Early Espresso Bakers Twine.

What do you think?  You can make this quickly in about 2 1/2 hours with all the embellishments, or print out Jessica’s letters, mount on cardstock, string them together and you have an instant banner!  Her design with MDS 2 has digital embellishments.  She has a picture of her banner on her blog.

Happy stampin’ !     -Sandra-
